Founded in the summer of 2014, Hannam’s have seen their rise within the auction industry continue to grow. Based in the quaint village of Selborne, Hampshire, easily accessible from London and Europe, the company holds around ten auctions every year. These fine art auctions comprise a vast number of categories, from porcelain, to ornamentals, to clocks and watches, to their very popular Oriental works of art. Alongside this, Hannam’s offer a general sale on the fourth day of the auction, with decorative items combined with paintings, carpets and furniture.

As well as the four-day auction, Hannam’s also holds several one- or two-day specialist auctions focused on private collections every month, covering silver, gold, jewellery, clocks, wristwatches and pocket watches, as well as additional Oriental lots, due to the demand of the industry.

Items can be viewed worldwide during the lead-up to each auction. Online, we reach in excess of 38 countries during each sale day, with over 4,000 approved registered bidders every auction. Our auction house prides itself on combining a high level of expertise and professionalism with the friendly attitude and personal service that clients have become accustomed to.

Notable results

• New house record: a Chinese ruby ground vase, sold for £520,000 (August 2021).
• A Chinese lime green double gourd vase, sold for £110,000; an important Chinese doucai vase, sold for £105,000.
• A rare Rolex stainless steel automatic military issue Submariner wristwatch c1972, sold for £44,000.
• A rare Omega stainless steel automatic military issue wristwatch c1968, sold for £32,000.
• A good pair of 18th century silver-mounted green glass bottles overlaid with openwork berries and vines, sold for £30,000.
• A superb Austrian mother-of-pearl and painted glass screen, depicting eight finely executed panels of Austrian landmarks, sold for £22,000.
• A majestic 19th century Japanese Meiji period cloisonné enamel vase by Namikawa Yasuyuki, sold for £21,000.
