Form: Canterbury or sheet-music stand
Description: A fine English late Regency or William IV rosewood Canterbury, constructed with three divisions for sheet music. The rectangular superstructure is distinguished by bold spiral-turned or rope-twist corner standards capped by brass urn-form finials, with smaller conforming spiral-turned and baluster-turned supports forming the interior divisions. The lower case contains a full-width drawer with a bowed or cushion-molded front, dovetailed construction, and paired brass rosette pulls. Raised on turned legs terminating in brass casters. Extensive turning, figured timber, brass finials, and well-proportioned early form are noted.

Condition: Overall good antique condition with age-related scratches, abrasions, finish wear, discoloration, and scattered veneer lifting or small losses. Minor shrinkage separations, joint movement, old repairs, and small losses may be present among the numerous turned supports and compartment rails. Brass finials, pulls, and casters exhibit tarnish and oxidation. The drawer interior exhibits wear consistent with age.
